THE ROOM S1 E1

Part of the The room series‍ ‍

A Signora Penelope Studios Production

In a Berlin where the Wall never fell, a small apartment becomes a fragile universe.

A young couple navigates the quiet tensions of daily life in the shadow of concrete and ideology. She is a video artist, obsessively capturing fragments of the divided city on grainy Super 8 and early VHS — looping images of watchtowers, empty U-Bahn stations, and forbidden glances. He is a mechanic, practical and grounded, who spends his days repairing machinery, yet struggles to repair the growing distance between himself and the woman he loves.

"The Room" is an intimate, slow-burning conversation while the world outside is built on separation and surveillance.

Her abstract, poetic video fragments bleed into the film’s visual language: flickering overlays, degraded tapes, and soft double exposures.
